Liverpool fans to mark 21st anniversary of Hillsborough

At 3.06pm today, Anfield will fall silent, as an expected 10,000 Liverpool fans will attend the annual service at the ground in memory of the 96 supporters who were killed at Hillsborough.

In the 21 years that have passed since that fateful FA Cup Semi Final day there have been no prosecutions against those individuals who

– opened gates and forced supporters in to fenced-in terraces to send them to their deaths

– failed to react as people were being crushed to death

– failed to allow the hordes of ambulances on to the scene

– spent more time covering up evidence than admitting their liability

The families of the 96 Liverpool fans who’s lives were changed forever, just by attending an FA Cup Semi Final are always in our minds.  12 months ago the Government promised us action. The campaign for justice continues.
