One of LFC's most inexperienced sides ever fielded in the FA Cup equalised twice to give Exeter an Anfield payday, and ensure the reds FA Cup hopes remain alive.

With injuries ravaging the first team a mix of youth players, and players only recently returned from loan saw the reds start with 3 players making their debut joined by a host of players with only a handful of Liverpool games under their belt - mostly League Cup ties.

Benteke was chosen as the captain but was arguably the most anonymous player in the white shirts of Liverpool.

After going behind in the 9th minute, the reds quickly raised their game - firing straight back in the 12th minute when Jerome Sinclair capitalised on a defensive mix up to fire in an equaliser.

At the end of the first half the reds were behind again - a corner going straight into the net - beating Adam Bogdan who missed his chance to clear the ball.

In the second half the reds brought on two more debutants, Joe Maguire and Sheyi Ojo.  It was shortly after Ojo's introduction that Australian left back Brad Smith scored the reds second equaliser of the evening.

Some late pressure arrived from Exeter but the ref signalled the end of the game and the reds and Exeter will meet again at Anfield.
