Pre Season Friendly
Saturday 19th July 2008 @ 6.45pm
Fribourg, Switzerland
With Steven Gerrard sent home to recuperate after suffering a minor injury scare, the reds were held to a 1-1 draw against potential Champions League opponents, Wisla Krakow.
Andriy Voronin scored in his second consecutive game on only 6 minutes when he was the quickest to react to a rebound from his own shot to fire in to the net.
However Krakow had an answer of their own another 6 minutes later when Jirsak fired past new red Diego Cavalieri.
Andreas Dossena was handed his first Liverpool run out after clearance was granted for the player.
Plessis and Lucas struggled in the centre of the park in the first half, but Spearing and Mascherano had a much better time in the second half.
The second half was rather dour but the reds preparations for the new season continue and those Voronin goals just keep on coming…
Goals
Voronin 6
