Rafa to get canonised in Liverpool city centre (3pm Tuesday 6th March)

Rafael Benitez will be declared St. Benitez ahead of tomorrow’s massive European clash with Barcelona at Anfield.

The infamous Rafatola picture will be held aloft the streets of Liverpool and Anfield as a group of Liverpool fans have organised the ‘event’ which will bring back memories of the trek across the Istanbul wasteland to the Attaturk Stadium.

If you have the afternoon off tomorrow ahead of the game, or just fancy ‘pulling a sickie’ then you have our permission.  Turn up with your scarves and banners and join the seven cardinals as they annoint our European Cup winning manager.  Start early for possibly our biggest game of the season.

The full itinerary is:

From 2.45pm Rafa Canonised in Williamson Square, Liverpool City Centre (by the official LFC store)

2.45pm – 5pm  The Seven Cardinals March to Anfield.  (this will feature the occasional drink along the way at some fine drinking establishments)

5-6pm.  Communion Wine in The George at the top of Oakfield Road

6.30pm.  Parade to Anfield. (With the victorious Liverpool sign held aloft)
