Agger: Mistake for players to leave

Daniel Agger has suggested it would be a mistake for players to leave Liverpool FC this summer.

The player recently signed a new four year contract and speaking to the official club magazine suggested anybody considering leaving the reds would be making a huge error.

“I’ve agreed a contract, the manager has agreed a new contract, Steven Gerrard, Dirk Kuyt and some other players are all agreeing contracts.

“So I think this shows you that within the club there is a real sense that we are building towards something special.

“Everyone wants to be successful, everyone wants to be part of it. If you don’t, then I think you’re making a big mistake.

“There is a lot that we should be proud of this season and we are.”

  1. I for one would like to see Owen back at Anfield on a pay as you play contract OR for 40k a week as back up to El Nino. Tevez would be a perfect partner for Torres as would David Villa. Forget Barry and keep Alonso and make a Decent signing for left back.
Come on Liverpool you are getting there, Champions very soon keep you heads up and LFC will be GREAT once again.

  2. To Imran:

You shouldn’t speak bad of Owen and McManaman, there are great players and they had great seasons in Liverpool. Everyone wants something different in their life at some point. Even Gerrard was thinking of leaving a couple of seasons ago.

  3. One just needs to look at the likes of Michael Owen and Steve McManaman to see what direction their career’s went after they willingly left Liverpool.Same can be said for Jamie Redknapp and Robbie Fowler but unlike the first two they were sold for various reasons thus can’t be called traitors!

I really hope no one buys Owen so that he’s forced to play in an inferior league next season!
