Fabio lands Brazil national team call up

Fabio AurelioLiverpool’s 30 year old left back, Fabio Aurelio, has been rewarded for his performances at Liverpool by getting a long overdue call up to the Brazil national squad.

Fabio has been named in the squad that will face England in Qatar in a friendly game in the middle of November.

Brazil’s left back area has been a problem – with national coach Dunga trialling a number of players there but without anybody making the place their own. Reaction back in Brazil has been very positive to the news.

Fabio joins Lucas in the squad – Brazil qualified for the World Cup by finishing top of the South American group.

Congratulations to Fabio – and let’s hope he gets his chance to impress.

  1. I see Aurelio getting a lot of stick on Liverpool forums and he is often included on fans ‘players to sell’ lists but personally, I think he is an excellent player. We all know about his injury problems but if he can put them behind him and play regularly, he is definitely good enough for Liverpool AND Brazil.

  2. Two players in the Brazil Squad? A team that finished top of their qualifying group for the world cup? and here’s me thinking our squad was so poor………..Funny that
