Torres hopes for more Spanish arrivals

torresFernando Torres hopes some more of his talented countrymen arrive at Anfield this summer as the reds aim to make the improvements that could help land a 19th title.

Speculation has been rife that the reds will lose some of our Spaniards as Real Madrid and Barcelona stories dominate the media but Nando believes a reds raid could help improve the squad.

Speaking to the media, the player said:

“We have to improve at home.

We lost a lot of points at home against teams in the middle of the table. If we can get 10 more points at home I think at the end of the season we can win the Premier League. It was frustrating but football is difficult against these kinds of teams.

We need players with quality to try to win these kinds of games and I hope Liverpool will bring in players like this.

I hope Liverpool will bring in players like Silva, Mata or Villa: small players with quality – like Manchester United had Tevez or Scholes.

  1. We simply can’t afford signing a top class player who would easily cost us £30 million minimum.Though we’ve splashed the cash for Johnson teams like Real Madrid are spending ten times the amount.

Just have to accept that we’re scrapping the bottom of the barrel looking for bargains. It’s like eating leftovers of Real and Barca which hurts me like no one’s business.

  2. If we sold alonso, babel and benayoun we would have the cash to buy villa and silva. It wont be easy to persuade villa to come here though but it wouldbe worth a try.
Imagine our strike power with him and torres up front it would scare every defence like mad. I would like to see lucas be shown the door asap though we could have had a three legged dog in the team to do what he has done for us.
We lost out an barry (not my first choice) so we need to act quickly to get the targets in or we will lose them too

  3. i think we must hold babel and xabi alonso,we should sell arbeloa, degen, lucas and benayoun!!david villa is a great striker but silva is not my first choice for liverpool,he struggle last year very in valencia…we need world class players to win the title i think?!

  4. Does nobody follow football stories anymore? Villa has said several times that he wants to stay in Spain. Silva would be a fantastic buy aswell if we could get him. Although i think Mata, who had a great time for Valencia last season when Silva was injured, would be a great signing. We’d probably be able to get a better deal for him aswell rather than Silva. So why has he never been mentioned?

  5. Alonso has stated he wants to leave so let him go, with the money we get for him we can buy villa who has stated he would only come to england to play under rafa. The same for silva.
Alonso has not been at his best over the last season so out with the old and in with the new. If the yanks would get out we could buy who we wanted get them out too and get dic in…..

  6. as i have said, we should be looking to offload the players who just havent done it or are just not sqaud players.

leto is off, so should voronin, so should itandge, hobbs has been sold, anderson is off to forest, dossena is just crap, lets be clear on that, arbeloa the jumped up prick has been quoted as saying that “he is proud of what is being built at madrid” what a prick the last time i looked he was at deportivo playing some games going now where, then rafa takes him in, he is now playing for a team close to winning the best tittle in years, has got into the spain set up and he now wants to jump ship to a team we fucked over 5- 0 last seaosn? sell arbeloa, he seems a little cocky to me, if you add this lot up then liverpool have money coming back into the club,

    reina
    johnson carragher agger insua

    silva alonson macherano

    kuyt torres gerrard

  7. i think we should sell either alonso or masch (not both) and use that money to buy david silva and david villa for around £35mil (the money from masch or xabi) and use dossena and/or babel as well
