UK Art Show ends with Hillsborough honour

Time for a bit of culture on Anfield Online. Some of you may have heard about artist Antony Gormley’s latest project which was to enable members of the public an hour on the Fourth Plinth in Trafalagar Square, London to express themselves.

Over the course of 15 weeks, around 2400 individuals have taken up the opportunity which reached its conclusion on Wednesday morning.  There have been dancers, mime artists, singers, environmental campaigners and more but the very last person to step on the plinth was Emma Burns.

Over the course of her hour, she released 96 balloons, after reading out the names and brief story of the 96 supporters who died at Hillsborough, 20 years ago this year.

Congratulations to Emma and all the Liverpool fans who were in attendance. There was even a rendition of YNWA as the 15 week art project drew to a close.
