Reds accept offer for Babel

Liverpool winger Ryan Babel is set to leave Anfield for TSG 1899 Hoffenheim of Germany.

The reds are believed to have accepted a fee in the region of £7M for the player who is now heading to Germany to discuss terms.

Ryan has been a constant source of transfer speculation for Liverpool in the last 3 transfer windows after a disappointing few years at Liverpool, in which he failed to live up to his promise.  In the last year he has even found himself out of favour with the Dutch national side as brighter prospects emerge.

Babel has played 146 games for Liverpool, scoring 22 goals in the process, and cost the reds £10M.

Reds accept offer for Babel

  1. Good he’s been pretty bad anyway 22 goals in 146 games. For a striker that bad. 7m is good and now we have more chance of a big name signing! Come On You Reds

  2. trouble was ryans ego got him in trouble plus his of the pitch activities and interests were more of interest to him than soccer. perhaps with gauranteed first team soccer in germany and some mellowing out he can now focus on soccer.

  3. Another fine Rafa kid… Good riddance…. Just another 3M loss…. Oh well… Damn those Americans, just won’t give us enough money to spend.

  4. Thanks Babel shame the potential was never really given the chance. All the best for the future and well done for having the ….. to post a parting shot at the Mancs and Howard ‘Fergie Lover’ Webb.

  5. He’s been a major disappointment considering the massive sum invested in him. Every now and again we have seen glimpses of a genuine star in the making but his impending departure won’t upset many fans.

Yes he has pace and some skill to go with it but without much control so he’s always falling all over the place.Hopefully the £7m fee will be invested wisely by Kenny and co…

  6. Been coming this news for about 18 months. Helicopters on transfer deadline day in the summer was the most comical.

I’m sure there are some who still think he ‘wasn’t given a chance’. Figures above say it all. 146 games. Name me five he was boss in?

He may very well do well in Germany, unfortunately most of his talent in recent times has been on twitter, not on the pitch.

  7. Thank you for your service Babel shame you didn’t peak with us All the best in the future YNWA.
Does this now mean we make our move for the emerging 23 year old Dutch midfielder, Eljero Elia from Hamburg SV of Germany.
