Suarez and Liverpool charged by FA

Liverpool received a double whammy of charges by the FA following Monday night’s game against Fulham.

Luis Suarez was photographed raising his middle finger at the end of the game and will face a charge of improper conduct.  Several similar incidents in recent years have met with no charge being handed out by the FA, so reds fans will be wondering if Suarez is now being made an example of by the Football Association.

Unexpectedly, Liverpool were also charged by the FA for ‘failing to control their players’ following the sending off of Jay Spearing.  This is even more controversial, as again, a number of teams have reacted to sendings off in similar fashion with no charges being brought by the FA.

There have been suggestions that the FA are taking different actions based on whether a match is broadcast live on television or not.

Liverpool FC made the following brief announcement:

The Club will take the appropriate time to properly review the documentation sent to us before making any further comment.

The reds have until Monday night to respond to the charge.

Kenny Dalglish will be holding his pre-match press conference later ahead of the weekends game against QPR.
