Liverpool have confirmed the signing of Emre Can.
The deal was agreed at the start of last month but could not be completed until the opening of the European transfer window.
Bayer Leverkusen were reluctant sellers, but the 20 year old German had a €12M release clause for overseas clubs (approx £9.75M).
Since arriving from Bayern Munich, Can has been an integral part of the Leverkusen line up and played in the majority of the clubs Champions League fixtures last year.
Speaking to the official website he said:
"I am proud to be a part of the family and I am looking forward to playing here. I will give it my best.
"LFC is a great club and the fans are amongst the best in the world. I am looking forward to the first game and can't wait to step on the pitch for the first time at Anfield."
Can can play central midfield, out on the wing or even operating as a wing-back.
