Captain Henderson takes on role again for England

Liverpool's Jordan Henderson will captain England again in place of Wayne Rooney in tomorrow night's friendly against Spain.

Jordan Henderson - England

Henderson captained the side in last month's World Cup qualifier against Slovenia which ended 0-0.  Wayne Rooney has been ruled out with injury.

The 26 year old has made 31 appearances for his country at senior level - his debut almost 6 years ago exactly - when he played in a 2-1 defeat to France in November 2010.

He was something of a surprise call up to the 2012 European Championship squad, but after a disappointing campaign he didn't return to the squad until November 2013 - since then he has been a permanent fixture in the national side.

He is still awaiting his first goal in a senior international.

  1. My first message was not uploaded. Is JH our modern day Crazy Horse? Like Emlyn Hughes? Gotta make a rugby tackle. Maybe in the 95 minute. Haha
