Klopp: Spurs clash at Anfield is a big boost for the League Cup

Jurgen Klopp has been describing the moment he found out that Liverpool would face Spurs in the 4th round of the League Cup.

In his pre-match press conference for this weekend's game against Hull, the Liverpool boss was first asked about the cup draw which was made last night.

'I watched the draw live because I had watched the game before. And then I saw West Ham-Chelsea... A little smile to be honest.

'Then Man Utd-City... ooh.. nice.

'Then the smile freezes in my face because we get Tottenham... but it's good. It's okay.

'It's a big boost for the competition.  When I first came here I had to have explained why we field strong line ups and now in this competition it looks like a semi-final each game.

'All the big teams want to go through - you could see that in the line ups.  I am happy about playing at home.  When we don't have European nights lets take what we can get.  I'm really looking forward to it.'

Liverpool face Tottenham at Anfield in the 4th Round at the end of October.

Hopefully it won't be the only cup game at Anfield this season.

Liverpool haven't been beaten by Spurs at Anfield since the end of the 2010-11 season, but the reds have lost 3 of their last 4 League Cup clashes against the men from White Hart Lane.

There was a moment of humour when Sky Sports referred to the Liverpool goalkeeper by a different name...

Full 4th round draw

West Ham vs Chelsea
Man Utd vs Man City
Arsenal vs Reading
Liverpool vs Tottenham
Bristol City vs Hull
Leeds vs Norwich
Newcastle vs Preston
Southampton vs Sunderland
