Emre Can, Jon Flanagan and 8 youth players released from Liverpool

Liverpool Football Club have finally announced that Emre Can will indeed be leaving the club this summer.

The 24 year old German international's contract expires this summer and he did not agree to the offer of a new contract.

He has been widely tipped to join Juventus since the turn of the year.

Jon Flanagan, 25, who progressed through the Academy will also be released at the end of his contract.  He has spent time at both Burnley and Bolton on loan in recent years.

He made a total of 51 appearances for the reds, grabbing one goal.

A number of youth players have also been released: Toni Gomes, Paulo Alves, Mich'el Parker, Jordan Williams, Anthony Glennon, Jordan Hunter and Harvey Whyte.

Yan Dhanda left the club earlier this week as well on a free transfer to Swansea City.
