Liverpool will travel to MK Dons in the 3rd round of the League Cup after tonight's draw.
The 7 Premier League sides who compete in Europe join in the competition at this stage, and were pitched into the draw with the 25 victors of the 2nd Round ties.
MK Dons, famously renamed from Wimbledon in 2004, have not faced Liverpool since they were last in the Premier League back in 2000.
The reds did face the fan-created AFC Wimbledon back in January 2015 in an FA Cup 3rd round clash.
The majority of Premier League teams left in the competition are away from home in the round, but facing lower league opposition in the competition is something of a recent rarity for the reds.
The reds have been knocked out at the 3rd round stage in both of the last two seasons when they were drawn against Leicester and Chelsea in successive seasons.
The ties will be played the midweek of 25th September 2019.
