VIDEO: Suarez thanks Ajax and says goodbye

Luis Suarez showed how you should conduct a dignified transfer move when he headed back to Ajax at the weekend to say goodbye to the fans before the home side’s 1-0 victory over VVV Venlo.

The reds £22.8M striker took the opportunity of a gap in Liverpool’s schedule and his absence from our European fixtures due to being cup-tied.

After a brief interview on the field, which saw the Ajax crowd break out in a rendition of “You’ll Never Walk Alone”, the player walked around the pitch launching football’s in to the stands as souvenirs.

  1. Glad to see Luis leaving on good terms. I think Ajax fans are more accepting of players that leave for foreign leagues as they are still a selling club. Just a side-note – watched a profile of Eden Hazard on You-tube. He would be a perfect team-mate for Suarez! It would be like a modern day version of Beardsley and Barnes. Both players are clever and good on the ball and have unlimited energy. Really hope he joins us in the summer but have a feeling he will opt for Arsenal.
