Sitting here having 4 points after 3 games is not what I wanted.Jurgen Klopp

Jurgen Klopp appeared disappointed with a point against last season's runners-up Tottenham Hotspur after a high intensity lunchtime kick off at White Hart Lane.

The reds were held 1-1 after taking the lead at the end of the first half.  Sadio Mane had a goal chalked off for offside and Danny Rose scored the equaliser midway through the second half.

"We made one mistake in and around goal - they did have a chance through Alderweireld which led to a wonderful save from Simon."

"This game showed again what we can do - how we can play.  We were really flexible in offensive defending.  Yes I wish we would have won it but now we have to accept a point.

"We have not the most easy starting programme to the season.  Sitting here having 4 points after 3 games is not what I wanted.  But here it is - this is our base and we have to build on this base."

Klopp after Spurs 1-1 LFC: I wanted more from our start

  1. I don’t understand why the coach to let go the most experienced defender by the name of skrtel. The defense is more prone to errors now due to inexperienced defenders we have. Its not right to do try and error on defenders. Right now the only defender we can count on is matip, coz lovren is unreliable due to his lapses. The left back is another challenge that the team is experiencing right now. In my own opinion, I think its not right to place milner in that position, coz milner and coultihno work hand in hand in the middle field to create goal opportunities for strikers. That’s why we are failing to create goals now coz there is less delivery of balls for strikers. There’s need to find someone else to take that left back position and not milner or moreno who has been disappointing us. Today’s game is a deciding factor on whether we are determined to stay competitive in the league or not. We hope to see an improvement.

  2. The team requires a lot of improvement if its still competitive for barclays cup. The team is not balanced in middle field and too much defensives lapses. Liverpool has a weakness of failure to defend goals. There is need to build the defense and middle field if the team is to avoid conceding carelessly. Keeping a clean sheet is important but the has not lived up to that. The striking force is not effective enough to secure goals. There is need to sharpen up strikers, coz we can not defend for goals on mane who is a middle fielder. The keep simon needs to do his home work as well, he lacks that quality of a keeper, needs to know when to leave the goal post and when he needs not and should be able to communicate with defenders when necessary. For me, am yet to see the real liverpool that we used to watch old days. There is still a lot of work the coach has in order improve the team performance. If u look at the performance of rivalry teams like chelsea, man u and man city, they ve improved greatly this season as compared to liverpool. Mind u we are yet to face them with this current poor performance of the club. Its high time the coach did something to the club. Desmond, child hood liverpool funny.

  3. 3 points is not good enough for us we the fans & we can’t talks beside our co fans y?there for management should plz do something b4 transfer widow close

  4. we needs more portial player that hold ball dribble three players & delivered for but only manne his doing that on the midfield therefore Liverpool’s management has to something before the window transfer close. @smy#

  5. Yes 3 points is not a good start but there is a lot of improvement in players performance ball control, accurate passes, dribbling good team spirit and focus Klopp has brought a lot of energy to the players and the players are fighting to win games.
    Keep it up Klopp.
