West Brom 1-2 Liverpool

Nuri Sahin fired a late winner to ensure Liverpool left The Hawthorns with a deserved victory, a month after a disappointing league defeat.

The reds came from behind in another victory delivered by a young Liverpool side - similar to the line up that beat Young Boys away 5-3 a week previously.

Jerome Sinclair became Liverpool's youngest ever player when he was introduced with 8 minutes to go - at the tender age of 16 years and 6 days old.

All 11 players who started against Man United at the week were changed but West Brom took an early lead in the 3rd minute. Brad Jones failed to deal with Liam Ridgewell's free kick and it was Tamas who gratefully fired the Baggies in front.

In the 17th minute however it was West Brom's keeper who erred - Nuri Sahin's strike from outside the box trickling in past Ben Foster.

Pacheco and Yesil both went close, and Suso's trickery caused all sorts of problems as Liverpool pushed home their technical advantages in the second half.

Suso found Assaidi, and his cross was met by Nuri Sahin who scored a deserved winner for the reds with just 8 minutes remaining.

Liverpool advance to the next round of the League Cup where they are set to take on Brendan Rodgers old club Swansea at Anfield.
