With mounting injuries - Liverpool's youth again got an opportunity to shine - Suso and Andre Wisdom both being handed their Premier League debuts.

The reds goalfest began in just the second minute when Suarez fired in a strike from the edge of the box past John Ruddy.  The first half also saw Luis Suarez denied yet another stonewall penalty - Leon Barnett the beneficiary of another poor refereeing decision.

Liverpool's second goal came shortly after a miss from Suarez.  Norwich got caught napping from the resulting goal kick and Suarez nipped in with the ball to double the reds lead.

In the second half Nuri Sahin added another goal to his Liverpool account - Suarez with the assist - Sahin with the simple tap in.

In the 57th minute Suarez completed his hat-trick to put us 4-0 up, although Morrison then scored something of a consolation for the canaries.

There was still time for two more goals - a deflected shot from Gerrard before Grant Holt showed his skills on the deck (after a Skrtel error) to round the game up at 5-2.

Liverpool were in sizzling form for this game, and the past week or so has shown that some of the reds youngsters are doing their level best to make up for injuries and lack of numbers in the senior squad.  The reds move out of the relegation zone - and will be aiming to enjoy an October filled with more days like this one.

Luis Suarez destroys Norwich – again

  1. Enjoyed the long trip to Carrow Road yesterday.

Finally we get the result in the league to match the results we have been getting in the other competitions.

To quote the rest of our fans down there yesterday – ‘Ole!’
