Liverpool and the German giants have agreed a £2.5M fee and their Chaiman, Karl Heinz Rummenige told their official site:

“The player will come to Munich in the next few days for a medical examination and to sign his contract.

Pepe is eager to join Bayern, even though he understands that Manuel Neuer is our number one keeper."

Pepe Reina fell out of favour with Brendan Rodgers early on his tenure, and spent last season on loan at Napoli with former boss Rafa Benitez.

Rodgers paid £9M for Belgian keeper Simon Mignolet to replace the Spaniard.

Napoli were unable to reach agreement with Liverpool on a permanent deal, with the players rumoured £100k wages believed to be a major sticking point.

Reina made 394 appearances for Liverpool since joining the club a little over 9 years ago, a short while after the reds won the European Cup in Istanbul.  He had signed a 6 year contract extension in 2010.

Reina penned a letter to Liverpool fans shortly after his loan deal to Napoli last year.

  1. Sad to see Reina treated the way he has been after the service he has given.Must be difficult to lose your place to an inept clown like Mignolet for no other reason than the club dorsn’t wish to pay your wages anymore.Mignolet is not a replacement he is a joke, possibly the worst ‘no. 1’ I’ve seen at the club in over forty years. He saved a penalty against Stoke on first day of the season and then proceeded with some of the most consistently ridiculous performances ever seen. Don’t have the energy or time to list them all.Moan over.Good luck Pepe.We now have no goalkeeper, no striker or fullbacks.Yeah, & no ambition.Might aswell resign Crouch and stick him in nets.
