Transfer Rumours: Coutinho and Benteke out, Villa left back in

The transfer rumour mill continues ahead of the European Championships.

French national sports paper L'Equipe reports that the reds have contacted the agent of Jordan Amavi, the 22 year old French left back at Villa.

He is recovering from a cruciate ligament injury.  The paper also believes that both AC Milan and Lyon are interested in signing the player.

Amavi only arrived at Villa at the start of last season - signed for £9M from Nice.  He showed promising form but suffered a season ending injury in November.  Villa eventually went on to be relegated from the Premier League.

Meanwhile, according to Paul Joyce at The Express, PSG have added Coutinho to their list of transfer targets.

Philippe Coutinho - Liverpool FC

He reports that the French champions have contacted Coutinho's agents, but made no attempt yet to contact Liverpool FC.

Coutinho is currently away with Brazil ready for the Copa America.  The Brazilian signed a new five year deal last February.

Elsewhere The Times suggests that Christian Benteke is on Chelsea's radar, should they fail to sign Romelu Lukaku from Everton.

Benteke has been linked with Chelsea at various points over the past few weeks.  Their new manager, Antonio Conte, doesn't officially take up his position till after the end of Italy's European Championships.
