Liverpool agree fee to sell goalkeeper Danny Ward for £10M

With Liverpool about to open the door to Brazilian Alisson, it appears that going out of the swinging door will be goalkeeping understudy Danny Ward.

Danny was expected to be involved in tonight's friendly against Blackburn but instead he will join Leicester in a £10M deal.

Chelsea are widely tipped to replace Thibaut Courtois with Kasper Schmeichel, the current Leicester number one.

Danny Ward has made just the three appearances for the reds in his six and a half years at the club, but spent 16-17 season on loan at Huddersfield - a season in which they got themselves promoted to the Premier League.

He had previously spent loan spells at Morecambe and then Aberdeen.  The reds had brought him in for a nominal fee from Wrexham back in January 2012, when he had just broken into the first team squad.

The Telegraph reported the news earlier that the two clubs had agreed to the £10M fee and the player will now undergo a medical and talks about a deal that 'could' see him become a Premier League regular in the upcoming season.

Several sources are reporting that Chelsea did make a bid eventually for Alisson but the player rejected this move, and completed his medical with the club earlier today.
