High Court hands RBS and Liverpool FC victory

After a nerve-wracking Tuesday and night for Liverpool fans, Justice Floyd today delivered his verdict in a packed Court 18 at the High Court.

He described the present state of Liverpool Football Club as

unacceptable

and declared in favour of RBS to reinstate the board that Tom Hicks illegally attempted to split up last week.

The Judge warned Hicks and Gillett, that under the terms of the loan agreement

the owners had no right to veto the sale of Liverpool Football Club .

Under the plans from NESV, the £200+M of acquisition debt will be removed from Liverpool Football Club’s books.  Tom Hicks and George Gillett will lose out to the tune of £140M over the period of their ownership.

Hicks and Gillett have been refused the right to appeal.

Liverpool may still seek to get a declaratory judgement, if required, this has been pencilled in for 21st October.  This is to effectively remove any right that Hicks and Gillett have ownership of the club.

More updates to follow.

  1. God bless this great club, if your form liverpool, london or all over the globe, it doesnt matter if you love Liverpool this day will be rememberd for a long long time, I was at work wanting to take my dad down to the courts, we just could not make it, although the radio was on and we both just cried and punched the air, the presssure for just the man on the street supporting liverpool this week has been almost too much! thank you to the s.o.s and the fans who went today and yesterday, ynwa…..

  2. And start looking at what Rafa did to get LFC in this position. Buying flops for ungodly amounts of money. Things can only go up from here and I have a feeling the players will be much happier now it’s all over with. The players and Fat waiter are to blame for the current situation in the league. Nobody would care about the debt if LFC were top of the league..let’s not be hypocritical now.

  3. Are you kidding me? You’d rather have some Arab family buy this club so you can look like Man City? Do some reading on these guys from NESV before you make idiotic remarks like you just did. Tom Hicks is notorious for making stupid decisions. He only cares about profit, but after all, this is a business and you can’t blame him. NESV intends to profit at well…but they know how to run teams. LFC is what te Red Sox were before they took over. Playin like crap and bottom of the league.

  4. As a Liverpool fan of 50 year, this was by far the lowest point in the clubs history,The running of LFC, leaves a lot to be desired .If the board have any sense,( highly unlikely) then this other American (Henry) shouldn’t be allowed to buy the club. There was an Arabian family who where interested, some years ago,but Mr Moores sold LFC to the Americans. Apologizing to Liverpool fans later, after Moores had made a killing. It is a disgrace..
