Reds defender set for a month out

Martin Kelly is set to miss an important month for Liverpool after confirmation that he had torn his left hamstring.

Liverpool fans and the management team will be particularly concerned as this is the third major injury to hit the player in the last two seasons.

During his full debut against Lyon under Benitez in October 2009, Kelly suffered a groin injury that ruled him out till the end of February 2010, before less than a month later he was ruled out for the season after a knee injury.

The injury could present a real problem for Dalglish at left back.

With Glen Johnson more than likely to return to right back, and question marks over the fitness of Fabio Aurelio and Daniel Agger; and the experience of Danny Wilson – the reds will be concerned at how Liverpool will fill the potentially weak left back spot as we head towards the end of the season.
