Emre Can injury: Midfielder hoping his season isn’t over

Emre Can, injured during the victory over Borussia Dortmund, hopes to be back and involved before the end of the season.

With the European Championships coming up the midfielder is aiming to be fit before the end of the season.

Following the Dortmund game he was ruled out for around four weeks - giving the reds hope that he could be available for the last games of the season and (if the reds get past Villarreal) a potential European final.

Speaking to German media and asked whether he could be named in the squad, Emre said:

"I am a fighter and won't let anything get me down.

"I will give everything to try and be fit in time for the Euros and I am optimistic about achieving my goal."

Emre has been one of Liverpool's most used players over the past 2 seasons with 86 appearances.  He has five international caps at senior level and played against England last month, albeit in a right back position.
