Liverpool squad head to United States for tour

Following last night's victory away at Huddersfield Town the reds returned to Liverpool before heading to Liverpool John Lennon airport in the early hours.

The reds set off just after 3:30am (UK) heading to the US for the next stage of pre-season.

Ragnar Klavan and the returning James Milner were also on the plane heading to the States.  Lucas Leiva, who had appeared to pick up a possible hamstring injury during the game, has also flown out with the reds.  Mamadou Sakho and Joe Gomez - both currently sidelined with achilles problem also travelled.

Shamal George, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Ovie Ejaria are also among those travelling with the squad.

The reds will have a full week of training first before their first game which is the early hours of next Thursday morning (4am) against Chelsea in Pasadena, California as the International Champions Cup tournament gets underway.  Three days later at 3am the reds play AC Milan in Santa Clara.

The tour then completes in the early hours of 2nd August (12:30am UK) when Liverpool face AS Roma in St Louis.

The reds will then have 12 days before the start of the Premier League season.

Liverpool will arrive in San Jose early-afternoon UK time today before heading to Palo Alto and Stanford University which will be their training base.
